Individual Psychotherapy

My practice involves creativity and collaboration within a therapeutic frame. I help people who have faced challenges including depression, anxiety, gender dysphoria, abuse, family conflict, early disappointments, and bereavement. Talking to someone who listens with care and empathy can provide relief from the pervasive effects of trauma and loss.

Generally, we will meet once a week. Sometimes people choose to come more often, to deepen their work and to move more quickly through the process. We can discuss frequency of visits and length of treatment together.

I enjoy helping people increase their self-understanding and deepen their insight into the conflicts underlying their presenting struggles. It is my hope that we can work together to help you feel better and know yourself in a deep and meaningful way.

Couple and family therapy

I help couples and families as well, using a strengths-based, family systems approach. Typical areas of focus are gender transition, communication, depression and anxiety.

Fees and insurance

Fees for psychotherapy vary depending on length of session and number of participants; please inquire. Sliding scale sessions are reserved for clients who demonstrate financial need for a lower fee, and are not available for people using insurance.

As an out-of-network provider for PPO plans, I am able to send you a monthly superbill to submit for reimbursement by your insurance. No guarantee of payment or reimbursement can be given, so please verify your coverage in advance. Also, if you are using insurance to access therapy, I am required to give you a diagnosis. If you have insurance but choose not to use it, I will ask you to sign a form indicating you are a self-pay client.

Cancellations require advance notice within 24 hours of your appointment, or you will be charged the session fee, unless we are able to reschedule within the same week. I accept cash, credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Insurance will not cover missed sessions or late cancellations.
